First Race for Dragonfly’s Triumph TR6

Debut race for the TR6 at Donington Park – September 2020

This weekend saw the first race in our Classic Race Car – The Awesome Triumph TR6!

Held at Donington Park, in association with the Classic Sports Car Club, the Autumn Race Meeting is home to over a dozen races for hundreds of competitors across a wide range of classes.

Our TR6 featured in Race 10 on Sunday – The Adams & Page Swinging Sixties – this series was for all Sports, Saloons and GT cars originally produced in the 1950s and 1960s.

The race lasted 40 minutes with a mandatory pit stop and 30-minute qualifying session held on the same day. Our drivers were Tom Gladdis and Peter Tyler – MD of Dragonfly….! Apart from a test outing back in August, this was the very first race for both our drivers in the TR6.

Peter took the first half which started with a rolling start, and Tom took over after 20 mins. The guys finished P1 in class and 8th overall! A great start to our journey in the Triumph TR6!

Peter: “We were nimble on the corners but didn’t stand a chance against some down the straights. Enjoyable none the less and a great time out with many lessons learnt that we can take into the next race”
